Lower Yellowstone

We’ve had lots of folks ask us about the Lower Yellowstone.  We’ve had mixed reports but all agree there is A LOT of water down there with some dangerously big waves.  Yesterday guides did very well and landed several nice fish.  Today the morning was a little slow, most likely due to a brewing storm in the background.  While we expected to get pounded by the rain (which we did), but we did not expect the armada of rafts.  We were first met by two jet skiers who came ripping around the corner at near 50 m.p.h. catching air in the wave trains.  Following the jet skis was a floatilla of about 25 rafts, equipped with Jagermeister flags, inflate-a-mates, coolers, afro wigs, you name it!  We even got waked 3 times by the sheriff’s jet boat.  Despite the rain and the crowds, Ack Managed to land a nice 19.5″ brown on a streamer, Maddy caught her first 16 inch rainbow on a fly, and Sally had a two footer eat a rubberleg…
