Miguel’s Monster…

Wesley Cory with a nice bright hen...

Wow!  Congratulations to the Cory brothers, who both caught the biggest browns of their lives yesterday!  All season Wesley had been racking up good numbers of fish, (and as brothers do), had been teasing his older brother Miguel about his lack of fish to the net.  Looks like Miguel caught up quickly, perhaps all in one monster fish!  During the epic battle not only did Miguel have to keep his cool with a huge brown on the end of 3X line, but also his composure as Wesley routed for the fish, “Get away, get away – get off, break off!”  Lol!   Wesley was so determined to catch a bigger fish than his brother that he even kept fishing during the photo shoot!  (He did end up catching several nice fish, and Dad even caught a few solid browns as well).   Miguel’s monster was caught on a black leadeye, (the stinger hook version) but we’ve also had good luck recently on white, tan, yellow, and olive streamers.  The fish are a little nippy right now, so having a built in stinger hook is a good way to go…
